Hallelujah! Fun and Friendly Competition…

Well… I decided to do something that I haven’t done in a while… a good old friendly competition, and I won!  I am this year’s 2012 Lebanon Idol winner!  There was some stiff competition… especially from another artist that I know and respect, but I was blessed to win some great prizes and met some great people!  Plus – I was asked to be a part of their board next year as well as a judge for 2013, which is very exciting!
The links to the 2 songs I sang – Stormy Monday, and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah are below.  Enjoy!  They are two of my favorites.

NOLA!!!

WOW!  I just returned from “The Big Easy”  and let me tell you… I had an AMAZING time!  In fact, it was one of the best times I’ve ever had!   :-)  I was blessed to hear some amazing musicians – including street artists, which were so much fun and so appreciated by all.   I attended New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and enjoyed awesome acts there as well.  BUT… my biggest thrill of all was to sit in with two different bands at two different venues!  I sang with a blues band at Bootleggers on Decatur St., and with a jazz band at The Saint Hotel (wow!  what a beautiful modern hotel!)

Here are a few photos from my trip!  I’m highly considering moving there!  ; )

Blog… Blog… Blog… (February 8, 2012)

I’m staring at my screen wondering where to start!  Well, first things first is always a good beginning, so – I’m playing at the Colonial Lounge this Friday from 10-1.  Come out if you’re in the mood to listen to some jazz, blues, a little funk, and some new tunes!

Second!

We are going into the studio soon to record some more originals, which means I will have CD’s for sale in the upcoming months!!!

Third!

I think we are going to add an AMAZING pianist to the band, which is very exciting!  He can write and sing, too, so stay tuned for that; I will give you dates, etc. when he will be joining us on our gigs!

Fourth!

Philllllly… get ready for Erica Lyn Everest!!!  We are playing at JD McGillicuddy’s, next to the Electric Factory in Philly and can’t wait!  The band and I are looking forward to branching out and playing new places in new cities, and making new friends!  If you guys are interested in coming, email me, and I’ll give you details with recommendations of nearby hotels!  I’ve recently found some favs!

Peace and Love, my Friends

Extracurriculars ….

When I am not singing, gigging, writing, working out, or spending time with my fam, I love to explore and go out and about with James.  We were free one Saturday afternoon and decided to explore a bit in Harrisburg.  We found an awesome new little coffee shop and took some fun pictures with me as his little model for the day.

For those of you who didn’t know, I used to really be into photography and actually majored in it in college, so James and I had a great time shooting photos!  Check out the photos James shot of me, below, and check out his website at www.jamesrasp.com for his blog and photography.  Also, here is some of my photography from years gone by!

Enjoy, friends!
